Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours First Love Live! ~Step! ZERO to ONE~ was held on 25th – 26th February at Yokohama Area. The two days of concerts were also broadcasted in overseas such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Southeast Asia and Australia.
However, just last night, several large Love Live groups in China were tipped that some online sites were selling Aqours Leaked concerts video, and has since caused a lot of controversy.
Firstly, the satellite broadcasting, which means the actual raw concert clips will be transmitted real-time through the satellite and to the rest of the world.
It was suspected that the satellite transmissions signal were intercepted, and the hacking is completely at a different level of approach.
“Someone selling the leaked concert videos online”
“Based on this screenshot, you can see that the videos have a large capacity, and both were uploaded in the night after the concert. And there are reasons to believe that the videos were leaked for profiting purposes.”
The two days clips reportedly having overseas broadcasting notice screen. The videos were in HD, and definitely not through illegal filming but directly (hacked?) from the officials.
In comparison to the Live Viewing, the leaked content can be described as “Authentic”, including the NG part of Rikyako (Rikako Aida).
Of course, the official Blu-ray Disc sales will make some corrections to the sound. But to some people, the raw footage might be more “worthy” for collections than the edited BD.
In fact, this was not the first time. The leaks have been rampant in China since 2015, with LoveLive! 5th Live followed by LoveLive! Final Live being leaked out. Coincidentally, it happened every time on their live broadcasting.
According to sources, the leaked broadcasting was already an “open secret”, those “fans that do not have the money to attend the broadcasting” would resort to piracy.
The tickets supply were “little” and basically sold out very quickly. There was no other broadcast live, and the nearest places would be either Hong Kong or Taiwan. Thus, lots of time and money will be needed and obtain through piracy is more “convenient”. “There were many LoveLiver in the mainland, and this type of business is very profitable”.
The leaked videos have since sparked discussions. Most fans understood that the leaked was not only illegal piracy, and totally not a desirable outcome. And once if spread to the Japanese officials, they might be banned from having any future Love Live! activities. Some argued that the leaked is their only way to “support” since they couldn’t attend the Live or to buy the BD.
Last week, the Sword Art Online Movie were leaked from Singapore & Malaysia, and have caught the licensor ODEX’s attention to address the issues.
ODEX has sternly pointed out that “because of this irresponsible behaviour”, Singapore & Malaysia might be “blacklisted” from the release of animated films.
It’s rumoured that piracy in China is “inevitable” and it’s an unknown on how the Japanese will be handling the issues.
However, if future overseas broadcasting were to be cancelled then good luck to all the overseas fans 🙂
The official BD sales might be months after the actual Live, but piracy is absolutely illegal no matter what reasons.
Supporting the Officials products are the genuine deal in support the industry.
